Shift handover, intercom and floor

How to hand the broadcast to your partner, talk off air and address the audience

The standard model is two interpreters per language pair, working in shifts. One interpreter is acceptable for short broadcasts.

Shift handover

Handover takes one button and two steps: the current interpreter offers the shift, the partner confirms. Until the partner confirms, the current interpreter stays on air.

A dual timer shows the time of the current turn and the total time for the shift: you can see when it is time to switch, with no stopwatch on the desk.

Private intercom

A separate line that bypasses the broadcast:

  • interpreter to interpreter;
  • interpreter to moderator

Listeners do not hear the intercom, and it is not recorded. Nobody can join someone else’s intercom line, privacy is enforced on the server.

Going to the floor

The “Go to Floor” button lets you address all listeners at once on a separate track: for example, to ask the speaker to slow down or to announce a technical break. Such an announcement does not go into the interpretation recording.
