What's new in SINHRON

What changes in the SINHRON simultaneous interpretation platform month by month, for listeners, interpreters and organizers

October 2026

Broadcast settings are now a clear step-by-step flow, there is a new director's booth, and the broadcast player can be embedded on your own website

For organizers

  • Step-by-step broadcast settings. The broadcast setup is gathered in one block: who speaks, how interpretation works, how listeners join. The result is shown as a summary, and the “Save” button is always at hand
  • Choose the interpretation method for each language: a booth or a pair of interpreters, interpreters online or in the room, plus a mixed “Hybrid” option
  • All broadcast links in one menu with a “Copy all” button. The QR code for the room opens the interface without video, and organizations now have their own QR code builder
  • The broadcast player can be embedded on your own website. Viewers watch the broadcast on the event page without entering a PIN
  • Each speaker is recorded on a separate track, so a second voice is no longer lost in the recording
  • Event dates are now optional, and the creation form is shorter

For directors

  • A new role: broadcast director. Using their own link, the director builds the program feed from cameras and the presentation, picks a layout and expands the picture to full screen when needed
  • A control panel under the stage: mute everyone except the person speaking, turn on your own microphone and choose a speaker, end the broadcast
  • The director’s program feed goes into the recording without black frames and continues after a pause. The director’s link opens only their own broadcast

For speakers

  • Personal login and password for speakers. They still cannot see the organization’s data
  • By link, the speaker joins with the camera already on and appears in the shared grid

For listeners

  • Joining by PIN from a link without an extra screen: the PIN is filled in automatically, and the entry screen doesn’t flash
  • Chat messages can be selected and copied again

September 2026

Recordings can be played right in the admin panel and no longer cut off the interpreter's last phrase, speakers go on air by link without an account, and listeners download audio only for their own language

For organizers

  • Play recordings right in the admin panel. Before, recordings could only be downloaded. Now the speaker track and each language have their own player: the time and the scrubber show the exact position
  • Recording no longer cuts off the end of the interpretation. Interpreters finish their phrase after the speaker has stopped. Stopping used to cut them off mid-word; now the interpretation tracks keep recording for five more seconds after the stop
  • A broadcast without a camera is recorded as audio and opens in an audio player instead of as a black video. You can no longer start recording a broadcast that hasn’t begun yet, so no empty cards are left in the archive
  • Speakers go on air by link, without an account. The broadcast card has a new “Speakers” button: it issues a link with a 12-digit code. You can reset the link at any time, and the old one stops working
  • The moderator turns off a participant’s microphone and video with one click on their card
  • Video for viewers on phones is turned on in the broadcast settings, and the stage is designed for a room with up to 15 cameras
  • Links for technicians in one tap. The button builds a ready list: each language with its booth link plus the viewer link, ready to send to a chat
  • Broadcast QR codes open in the admin panel again on the production server

For speakers

  • Join by link without an account: name, speaking language and a “Join” button. You can speak from a phone too
  • The preview screen tells you exactly what to do next: it asks you in large type to press “Go on air” and gives the explanation in small print
  • Press Enter to confirm your name, and the cursor is already in the name field

For interpreters

  • Switching the microphone in an on-site booth really works now. Before, picking a new microphone only changed the label while the audio still came from the old device. Now the device switches, and if it fails, the booth restores the previous choice and warns you
  • Console buttons respond to a press anywhere on the button, not just on the icon

For listeners

  • The phone downloads audio only for the chosen language. Before, the browser pulled all channels at once and muted the extra ones. Now there is less traffic, and the number of languages in a broadcast is unlimited
  • A Zoom-style “Tiles” view. All cameras on stage in one grid. You can put a specific speaker in the main frame and expand the stage to full screen
  • Pick your own speaker or headphones right in the room, just like the speaker does
  • If a broadcast has no interpretation, the viewer joins straight away, without the language selection screen
  • The broadcast timer runs from the first time you go on air, not from when the broadcast was created
  • A cleaner mobile listener screen. The broadcast name shows under the event name, and service labels are gone

August 2026

A new offline broadcast format without a microphone in the app, a simpler and faster mobile listener screen, and another round of security audit findings fixed in the backend

For organizers

  • Offline broadcast format. The speaker talks straight to the room and the platform does not publish their audio, while the viewer opens one link as usual and picks the interpretation language. Each language channel gets its own interpreter booth with a permanent link: replacing the person in the booth does not change that link
  • QR code in the admin panel fixed. The “QR code for viewers” dialog could show a broken image for some broadcasts; now it always loads
  • A visual architecture diagram. The “Architecture” section of the admin panel now has an interactive diagram: the broadcast flow from source to viewer, the infrastructure layers and the security perimeter, handy for showing a client during a project review

For interpreters

  • A separate booth screen for offline broadcasts. The channel name, a microphone level meter and one full-screen on-air button; device selection and sound check are available on wider screens
  • Going off air now requires confirmation, while going on air is still one tap: an accidental tap won’t cut off the interpretation for the room
  • A connection status indicator in the booth: a green dot when all is well, yellow while reconnecting, red when the connection drops. A microphone dropout, for example from an incoming call, now shows on screen instead of looking like the broadcast is still going

For listeners

  • Joining a broadcast is noticeably faster and flicker-free. Connecting from a phone used to show several screens in a row; now there is one loading screen and then the broadcast
  • A simpler mobile listener screen. Only the essentials remain: the logo, broadcast status, channel name, the audio waveform and a chat button
  • Tap anywhere on the screen to turn on sound; a separate “Turn on sound” button no longer takes up half the screen

Security and stability

  • Another round of backend security audit findings is closed: access to another organization’s data, reading other people’s broadcasts through the API, forged calls into the interpreters’ comms line
  • Serving QR codes and other files from the admin panel no longer depends on the server’s debug mode
  • The interpreters’ comms line (intercom) checks the sender and their role: nobody can forge a call in someone else’s name or crash the booth with forged data

July 2026

Broadcast recording now works for real, the interpreter team got a private comms line, and the moderator got direct control of the broadcast

For organizers

  • Broadcast recording now works for real. The speaker’s talk and every interpretation language track are recorded separately, and the files are saved automatically to secure cloud storage. Recording starts and stops with its own button, independently of the broadcast, and you can hand the material to your client right after the recording stops. If the speaker loses connection, the recording is still completed
  • The moderator controls the microphones. One button instantly mutes any participant or all speakers at once, without interrupting the interpretation
  • New “Chats” section in the admin panel. All messages from all broadcasts in one window, like a messenger
  • The dashboard shows real numbers. Who is on air right now, how many listeners and interpreters are connected; if the server is unavailable, you see a clear reason and a “Retry” button instead of endless loading
  • The speaker room is now on par with familiar video services. Self-view before going on air, choice of camera, microphone and speaker, sound check, pinning a participant on screen. Works from a phone, with the interface in Russian and English, in light and dark themes
  • Small things that save time. The event time no longer shifts when you save the form, the administrator session no longer drops every 24 hours, and admin lists honestly show the cause of an error instead of a blank screen

For interpreters

  • The team got a private comms line outside the broadcast. A private intercom with colleagues and the moderator, a “Go to Floor” announcement for all listeners, a polite microphone request to your partner instead of cutting in
  • The interpreter booth is more stable. Fewer audio dropouts behind strict corporate networks, plus a light theme
  • A message to your partner no longer gets lost silently. If the network fails, you see a “Not sent” mark and can resend it in one click
  • A lost connection in the booth no longer goes unnoticed. A clear “Connection lost” screen appears with a “Reconnect” button

Security and stability

  • The server now verifies and records an interpreter’s output language change: nobody can claim someone else’s language channel
  • Interpreters see only their own broadcasts in the system
  • Stronger protection for chat connections and the broadcast’s service channels

June 2026

Cascading interpretation went into real use, the interpreter booth was rebuilt for professional shifts, and the speaker screen became a proper working room

For listeners

  • Auto-floor: if the interpreter on a channel is silent or has not joined yet, the player automatically mixes in the floor audio instead of silence. The feature is live and being tested at real events
  • Cascading interpretation for rare language pairs. When there is no direct interpreter, interpretation goes through a pivot language (Russian). The viewer just picks the language they need, the mechanics stay hidden
  • Languages in the list are shown in their native spelling (中文, English, Español): you spot your language right away; the floor audio has its own button

For interpreters

  • Hand over the shift to your partner on air with one button. The outgoing interpreter offers, the incoming one confirms, and the microphone passes to the colleague automatically
  • Switching the output language is instant, with no reconnect and no pause for listeners
  • You can hear your partner in the booth (“Speaker / Partner / Both” modes); the speaker is ducked automatically while your partner is on air
  • The microphone is now taken on request, not by cutting in. If your partner is already on air, the button sends them an “Allow” or “Decline” request
  • The interpreter booth was rebuilt. “Chat”, “Participants” and “Comms” tabs, a dual shift timer, a volume control for your colleague, a confirmation before leaving the booth. We keep refining the interface based on feedback from the first shifts
  • Fixed: interpreters now hear their colleagues as soon as they enter the booth; before, sound sometimes only came on after a page refresh

For organizers

  • Interpreter matching now takes the talk’s subject into account (medicine, law, oil and gas…), not just the language: the system ranks specialists in the field higher and gently falls back to regular matching if there is none
  • Interpreters on a channel can be adjusted by hand: remove someone, add a specific person or go back to automatic matching
  • The speaker screen was rebuilt as a working room. A clean stage, a clear “Preview” / “You are on air” status with a timer, one on-air button
  • A tidier admin panel. An event calendar with click-to-pick dates, a reworked broadcast list (status, language codes, access), an organization switcher in the sidebar

May 2026

Joining a broadcast got simpler, professional interpreters got new tools, and the admin panel got tidied up

For listeners

  • Public broadcasts. For public events, a viewer opens the link, picks a language and listens with no PIN, no sign-up and no personal data
  • One broadcast address for all roles: the platform routes the speaker, the interpreter and the viewer from a single link
  • A clear role choice at the entrance: “Join as speaker / interpreter / listener”

For interpreters

  • Interpreters sign in with their own account: email and password instead of a one-time PIN for every broadcast; the system finds the assignment and connects them to the right booth
  • Partner monitoring in the booth: “Speaker / Partner / Both” modes. While one interprets, the other listens and gets ready to take over

For organizers

  • Speaking time limit. The moderator sets a limit, and the speaker sees a countdown and an “on air” badge, so it is easier to keep to the schedule
  • Deleting a broadcast now reliably ends it. The server closes the video conference room and disconnects all participants, so nobody is left hanging on the line
  • Dark and light themes for the admin panel, custom styling: a personal setting for each administrator

Security and stability

  • The speaker and interpreter roles now have separate access rights: each sees and can do only what their task requires
